Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

With temperatures touching 43°C, the risk of heatstroke has increased across the district. In the past two days, 12 patients with mild to moderate heatstroke symptoms were treated at primary health centres. Additionally, three more cases, including a six-month-old infant from rural areas, were reported at rural hospitals, according to the public health department.

The infant from Devgaon Rangari was admitted to the rural hospital on Wednesday afternoon after her condition deteriorated. She was later referred to the Government medical college and hospital (GMCH) for further treatment, but her family reportedly took her home instead. Health officials said they are monitoring her condition and she is currently stable.

Doctors have noted a rise in patients visiting private hospitals with complaints such as headache, weakness, vomiting and diarrhoea due to heat exposure.

Civil surgeon Dr. Kamalakar Mudkhedkar confirmed that all three rural hospital cases were mild. District health officer Dr. Abhay Dhanorkar said all 12 patients treated at primary health centres have been discharged.

Tehsil-wise cases: Kannad (1), Paithan (4), Phulambri (3), Vaijapur (2), Khultabad (1), Sillod (2), Gangapur (1), Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (1).
