Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:
High Security Registration Plates (HSRP) have been installed on 3,70,817 vehicles across the district so far, while around 4,05,890 vehicle owners have registered for the installation. However, nearly 1,77,293 vehicle owners in the district have not even registered for the mandatory number plates.
The authorities have now extended the deadline till June 30, and from July 1, the Regional Transport Office’s (RTO) flying squads will initiate action against vehicles not fitted with HSRP number plates.
Installation of High Security Registration Plates has been made mandatory for vehicles registered before 2019. The deadline for compliance has been extended multiple times earlier, and June 30 is now the final deadline. Officials clarified that vehicle owners who have already taken appointments for installation before the deadline will not face any action.
Install number plates before deadline
“Action will be taken from July 1 against vehicles without HSRP number plates. Vehicle owners should install the plates before June 30. No action will be taken against those who have already booked appointments for installation,” said Vijay Kathole, regional transport officer.
