4.7 K candidates take SET; 45.54 pc candidates remain absent

Aurangabad, De 27: As many as 4,751 candidates took the State Eligibility Test (SET) in two sessions at 18 centres of the district on Sunday.

SET coordinator Dr Satish Dandge said that 8,724 candidates registered for the assistant professors'' eligibility test. Of them, 54.46 (4,751) per cent of candidates were present while 3,973 (45.54 pc).

The first time such a large number of candidates were absent for the test. This is maybe because of Novel coronavirus.

The first paper was conducted between 10 am to 11 am while the second session was between 11.30 am to 1.30 pm. Dr Satish Dandge said that all COVID measures were taken during the arrangement of the examination.

There was one out of State observer from the centres while one observer for each centre was from the State. Candidates were asked to enter the centre two hours before the commencement of the examination. So, students started gathering at the centres since 8 am.

“The temperature of each candidate was examined through a thermal gun, and sanitiser was also sprayed. They were asked to maintain social distancing even in recess,” he added.
