Aurangabad, July 12:

The Waluj MIDC police arrested a motorcycle thief while searching the customers for the stolen motorcycles. The arrested has been identified as Vikas Vishnu Pattekar (19, Ghanegaon). The police have seized four motorcycles from him and four from customers, to whom he sold. The four customers purchasing motorcycles have been made co-accused in the case.

A motorcycle of Imran Khan Pathan, a resident of Sajapur, was stolen on July 8. During the investigation, PI Madhukar Sawant received information from an informer that a man is searching customers for the stolen bikes at NRB Chowk.

Accordingly, API Gautam Wawale and his team laid a trap and arrested the suspect. When brought to the police station and interrogated, Pattekar confessed that he has stolen eight motorcycles from Waluj MIDC area and sold four of them in Pandharpur and Waluj areas. The police seized all the motorcycles. The customers, Ajay Dabhade, Shaikh Sajid (both Pandharpur), and Rizwan Pathan and Shaikh Abrar (Both Waluj) are the co-accused. The action was executed under the Guidance of PI Madhukar Sawant by API Gautam Wawale, PSI Prashant Gambhirrao, constable Sanjay Hambir, Prakash Gaikwad, Nawab Shaikh, Shaikh Qayyum, Vinod Pardeshi, and others.
