‘A valuable treasure’ of music and social reality

Two books authored by Dr Tukaram Wandhare, highlighting the journey of a musical pioneer and the real-life issues of retired elderly citizens, were released in a ceremony held on Friday.

The books “Pt. Vishnu Narayan Bhatkhande: Musical Work and Contribution” and “Problems of Retired Elderly” were unveiled by MLC Satish Chavan, general secretary of the Marathwada Shikshan Prasarak Mandal.

Speaking on the occasion, Chavan said both works would prove to be milestones in the fields of education and music. Key speaker Dr. Samadhan Ingale presented an in-depth analysis, noting that the book on elderly issues not only highlights challenges in old age but also guides individuals on preparing for them from youth. He added that the work on Pt. Bhatkhande is a valuable resource for music scholars.

Guiding works

Chairperson principal Dr D.H. Kachole praised Dr Wandhare’s perseverance. Senior poet prof F.M. Shinde described Bhatkhande’s life as inspiring and value-driven. Rajesh Sarkate said the legacy of Deogiri’s soil continues to thrive, and music enriches human life.

Author expresses gratitude

In his address, Dr. Wandhare spoke about his writing journey and expressed gratitude to all contributors, including Ajay Kandar and cover designer Rajneesh Kondvilkar. The event was attended by principal Dr Ravi Patil, Babasaheb Wandhare, Dnyaneshwar Hivre, Arun Kate, and other dignitaries from music and social sectors. The programme was anchored by Dr Jija Shinde.
