Aurangabad, March 15:

Aurangabad is the third-largest city after Mumbai and Nagpur for the detection of Covid-19 patients in the state. Accordingly, the administration concern has geared up and started taking stringent actions to curb the situation. Meanwhile, the positivity rate of Coronavirus infection has increased to 21.71 per cent and the recovery rate has reduced from 96 per cent to 87.54 per cent.

The reporting of more than 1,000 infected patients in the district had pushed the administration to worry. The majority of the patients hail from the jurisdiction of the urban limit. The health administration is testing 4,000 to 5,000 persons and is detecting at least 800 Covid-19 patients. There is a huge rush of patients at AMC's Covid Care Centres, including Padampura and MGM Sports Complex.

Meanwhile, AMC's health administration fears that the figures of infected persons may increase rapidly in the city. The positivity rate was 22 pc, and the recovery rate has scaled down to 87 pc on Sunday evening.

Private coaching centres closed

The AMC administration has ordered the closure of all private coaching classes (from 5th to 12th students). Earlier, the administration had granted them relaxation considering the board examinations, but now the situation has gone out of control. Hence the civic administration took stern action of their closure. The board exams of 10th and 12th will be held as per time table, it is learnt.
