Aurangabad, Feb 17:

The district administration today served notices to more than 200 function halls from various tehsils in the district. Meanwhile, as a preventive measure, the district administration will be conducting a meeting with police administration to screen different types of passengers, transport and private vehicles passing through the check posts on the district boundary, on Thursday.

It may be noted that a large number of Covid-19 patients are detected in Vidarbha, Kerala and other places. Hence, the vehicles arriving in the district from Kerala are inspected. Besides, the vehicles coming from Akola and Amravati and proceeding via Aurangabad to Nasik, Mumbai and other parts of western Maharashtra will also be screened at the check posts.

The acting district collector Anant Gavhane said, " All the tehsil offices in the district were ordered to serve notices to marriage function halls in their jurisdiction. If needed, the administration may even file offences against violators. The crowded places will be targetted, and strict action will be taken against violators for not wearing face masks and using sanitisers. A meeting with police administration is organised tomorrow to keep a vigil on the boundaries of the district."

Gavhane also underlined that the administration in the wake of Covid-19 had issued an administrative circular alerting to conduct a check-up of passengers coming to Aurangabad through state transport buses from various parts of the district as well as Vidarbha region. The permission to travel to further destinations will also be given after check-up only, he said.
