Artificial Intelligence (AI) is no longer a futuristic concept, it is now embedded in everyday life, from waking up with smart alarms to navigating traffic, managing work, and even making health decisions. Experts say AI is not just improving convenience but fundamentally changing how people think, work, and make choices. Globally, nearly 1 in 6 people are using generative AI tools, while India is emerging as one of the fastest adopters, with over 90 per cent of users and businesses engaging with AI in some form. Experts note that this rapid adoption is driven by the ease and practicality AI brings to daily routines.
Workplaces see productivity surge
The impact of AI is particularly visible in offices. Studies show that over 80 per cent of organisations report improved productivity after adopting AI tools. Tasks like drafting emails, analysing data, and preparing reports are now completed in minutes instead of hours.
A shift in how humans think
“Artificial intelligence has become an integral part of daily life, quietly enhancing convenience, efficiency, and decision-making. From voice assistants and navigation to personalised recommendations and healthcare insights, AI simplifies routine tasks and adapts to individual needs. In workplaces, it drives automation, improves productivity, and enables data-driven decisions. Users must remain mindful, protecting data, verifying outputs, and avoiding overdependence. AI should augment human effort, not replace it,” said Suresh Shakkarwar, Executive Vice President & Head of Products at Findability Sciences.
Beyond efficiency, experts believe AI is reshaping human thinking itself.
“The emergence of systems like ChatGPT marks a shift not merely in access to information but in the structure of thinking itself. By connecting multiple variables, data, context, and behaviour, it enables smarter decisions, from healthcare and education to routine tasks like planning and cooking. This shift turns individuals from executors into orchestrators of intelligent systems. There is also the need for balance. Over-reliance could gradually reduce independent thinking if users stop questioning and analysing outputs,” said Harsh Jaju, director & professor of practice at Nath School of Business & Technology.
