AMC gears up to accord grand welcome to CM

Aurangabad, Dec 9:

The chief minister Uddhav Thackeray will be arriving in the city to perform ''Bhoomipujan'' of various development works in the city, on Saturday. The programme will be held at Garware Stadium. Meanwhile, the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has geared up for preparations to make the event a grand success.

The AMC administrator Astik Kumar Pandey has constituted a committee to monitor the works as per planning. The committee headed by the additional commissioner B B Nemane comprise of additional commissioner R P Nikam, city engineer S D Panzade, chief accounts officer Sanjay Pawar, deputy commissioner Aparna Thete, head-Solid Waste Management Cell Nandkishore Bhombe and deputy chief executive officer (of Aurangabad Smart City Development Corporation Limited) Pushkal Shivam.

It is learnt that the CM will inaugurate four development works of the AMC. Meanwhile, the civic administration had also sent a letter to the CM office stating there are no obstructions in their inaugurations.

The committee members have been given the responsibilities like arrangement of screens at Garware Sports Stadium, live broadcast of the event digitally, erection of pandal, its interior decoration, anchoring, light and sound arrangements, cleanliness on campus, drawing rangolis and accord a traditional welcome to the CM and other dignitaries, frequent coordination with police officials, receiving guests and accompanying them till the stage, display of posters and banners in the city, the arrangement of generators (for the interrupted supply of power), transportation at the venue, the printing of invitation cards and its distribution till the invitees and guests etc.
