Aurangabad, June 14:

The anti-encroachment squad of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) today has removed encroachments built on open spaces in Nandanvan Colony and Pahadsinghpura areas.

It so happened that the residents of Builders Housing Society, in Nandanvan Colony, had complained that the encroachment is being made on open space of the colony, during the last week. Acting upon the complaint, the AMC removed it, but the encroacher again attempted to encroach the land by erecting tin walls with the help of a steel frame. When the residents brought to the notice of the additional commissioner Ravindra Nikam, who then ordered to take action immediately.

The squad also demolished an encroachment of nullah in Pahadsinghpura. The encroacher Pund had constructed RCC columns in the nullah, near Saibaba Mandir on Pahadsinghpura Road. The construction of walls in it was underway. The squad noticed that Pund is also constructing an RCC structure on a 12,000 square feet area. Hence the AMC officials stopped the work and served him a notice directing him to submit the land ownership documents and building permission. The designated officers Vasant Bhoye, Savita Sonawane, R S Rachatwar, and other officials from the squad, apart from police officials, took today's action.
