Aurangabad, March 20:

The state government has appointed a retired deputy secretary Anees Shaikh as the chief executive officer (CEO) of Maharashtra State Board of Wakfs (MSBoW). The appointment of the permanent CEO has been made after a gap of six long years.

According to the notification issued, on March 19, by the deputy secretary (Minority Development Department), Dinesh Sonawane stated that the tenure of the CEO's appointment is for three years.

As per the norms, an officer of deputy secretary rank is eligible to become the CEO. Hence the Wakf Board had proposed the names of two eligible officers. Of which, the appointment of Shaikh has been confirmed. The board has got the permanent CEO after six long years, said the sources.
