Aurangabad, March 11

Antigen test will be done on 2 lakh workers from Waluj, Chikalthana, Railway Station and Shendra industrial estates.

Following an appeal by the district administration, industrial associations are going to bear all the expenses of the tests to be conducted at three places from March 13. With a fresh spike in the Covid-19 pandemic, the district administration, city municipal corporation and police administration have started implementing a partial lockdown from Thursday to break the chain of the virus.

Industries that have been given a conditional exemption from this lockdown have decided to cooperate with the administration. As the administration lacks the required machinery for such a large number of tests, Marathwada Association of Small Scale Industries and Agriculture (Massia), Chamber of Marathwada Industries and Agriculture (CMIA) and Confederation Indian Industry (CII); Marathwada zone, have decided to conduct antigen tests on industrial workers from Saturday onwards at three places -- Massia office in Chikalthana, Waluj and Marathwada Auto Cluster, Waluj.

Massia president Abhay Hanchanal said they have decided to help the district administration in conducting antigen tests. The associations have appealed to all the industries to get their workers tested at the above-mentioned places, while big industries have arranged for the testing at their own places.
