Arapur MIDC: Officials to meet Monday to fix compensation rates

An administrative meeting will be held on Monday at the District Collector’s office to finalise compensation rates for agricultural land proposed to be acquired for the new MIDC at Arapur, about 10 km from Waluj MIDC.
MIDC has decided to develop a new industrial estate at Arapur, requiring acquisition of 762.3 hectares of land. The land will be procured through negotiations with farmers based on the compensation rate decided. Over the past two to two-and-a-half months, meetings with farmers and local MLAs could not be held due to the Model Code of Conduct during municipal council, municipal corporation and Zilla Parishad elections. The upcoming meeting will include the Land Acquisition Officer, MIDC regional officials and the Land Records Officer, who will deliberate on the compensation to be offered. Once a consensus is reached, negotiations with farmers will be initiated, senior sources said.
