Yogesh Nandu Sangale (30, Swastik City), arrested six months ago for firing in Bajajnagar and recently released on bail, fled after police spotted him during a night patrol. He was allegedly travelling in a car with sharp weapons, suspected of heading to commit a crime.

Crime branch police sub-inspector Pravin Wagh noticed a speeding four-wheeler with tinted windows near Delhi Gate and signalled it to stop. The driver sped away. After a chase, the accused abandoned the vehicle in Jahangir Colony and fled. Police caught his associate, Nitesh Shriram Rathod (29, Pandharpur), while Sangale escaped. A case was registered at Harsul police station on Wednesday night on constable Rajesh Yadmal’s complaint. Police seized two knives (12.5 inches and 19 inches) and the car. Sangale had allegedly attempted to murder Ajay Istakke in Waluj in September 2025 and was arrested with Sagar Bharskar. Since 2012, he has eight serious offences, including murder, grievous assault, attack on government officials and illegal possession of arms. A search is on to trace him.
