Bagatlava tank still supplies water to 8–9 villages

About 10–12 km from the city, Gandheli village is home to Bagatlava, a Nizam-era tank that continues to provide water to 8–9 surrounding villages. Named for the dense mango orchards once in the area, the tank also supported soldiers stationed nearby, with agriculture practiced around it. Covering over 96 acres at the foothills, it stores rainwater from the slopes, ensuring water for farming, mango orchards, and drinking even in harsh summers. Today, it serves Gandheli, Sindon, Bhindon, Tandya, Deolai, Jhalta, and nearby villages, accessible via an earthen road. Many city residents remain unaware of this historical site.
