BAMU contributes Rs 81 lakh in CM relief funds

Aurangabad, June 4:

In the wake of the Corona pandemic, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU) deposited Rs 81 lakh until now in the chief minister’s relief funds. On Friday, vice chancellor Dr Pramod Yeole handed over a cheque of Rs 20.68 lakh to the district collector Sunil Chavan.

As per the appeal by the government, the vice chancellor, pro vice chancellor, registrar, officers and professors decided to give salaries of two days in the funds and the remaining employees the salaries of one day. Accordingly, 381 employees collected Rs 20.68 lakh and was handed over the district collector on Friday. Registrar Dr Jayashree Suryawanshi was present.

In the first phase, Rs 17.55 lakh, Rs 9 lakh in the second phase and Rs 35 lakh through the disaster managers, in all Rs 81,74,503 have been contributed in the CM’s relief fund so far. Chavan said that the country is fighting the Corona pandemic. The teachers and staff have come forward to help the people by contributing in the CM’s fund. The other generous donors should also come forward and contribute, he appealed.
