Bamu did not forget social commitment while progressing: VC Dr Yeole

Aurangabad, Dec 28:

Vice-chancellor of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu) Dr Pramod Yeole said that university did not forget to maintain social commitment while progressing as it established two COVID testing laboratory, distributed essential items and masks to needy students.

He was speaking in the Senate meeting held in the auditorium on Monday. It was the first actual meeting after the spread of COVID.

Pro-VC Dr Shyam Shirsath, registrar Dr Jaishree Suryavanshi along with 55 Senators were present. Newly appointed officers and deans were felicitated.

VC Dr Pramod Yeole said that he started working based on three-point formula-students-oriented decisions, transparency, and fast administrative process after taking charge on July 16,2019.

He said that teachers, officers-employees and students supported in the transformation process of the university.

“The spread of the pandemic virus has an impact on progress. We succeeded in established two laboratories of COVID testing through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). We are trying to live a normal life in the post-COVID situation,” he said.

The employees were hired on a contract basis, and their salary is paid from university fund than Government.

A five-member committee was set up to study about employees working on contract basis and submit its report. They are adv Vijay Subukde, Bhausaheb Rajale, Dr Ramesh Bhutekar, Dr Jitendra Dehade and Sunil Magre.

An interaction session was held between 3 pm and 4 pm. Members like Principal Bharat Khandare, Sanjay Gaikwad, Dr Babasaheb Kotake, Dr Shaikh Zahoor Khalid, Dr Sadashiv Sarkate, Dr Satish Dandge and other raised different questions. Management Council members Dr Rajesh Karpe, Dr Rahul Mhaske, Dr Bhalchandra Waykare, gave replies to the members.

All Senate members were given badges on the line of MLAs.
