Aurangabad, July 19:

Dr Narayan Bansilal Pandure, a professor from the Botany Department of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu) passed away on Monday morning.

Dr Pandure suffered a brain haemorrhage last week and was undergoing treatment at a private hospital.

Last rites were performed on him at Begumpura Crematorium today. He hailed from Bhogav village in Gansaungi tehsil. He was 49 and leaves behind mother, wife and two daughters.

Condolence meetings will be held at 11 am in Management Council Halls at 11.30 am and at Botany Department on July 20.

Registrar Dr Jaishree Suryavanshi and Dr Ashok Chavan appealed to all to attend the programme.

Commenting on his death, vice-chancellor Dr Pramod Yeole said that the university lost a teacher who was very popular among students. He said that Dr Pandure was dedicated his whole life to research on Botany.
