Before the flames of a father’s funeral pyre could die down, the daughter appeared for her examination

A mountain of grief collapsed upon the family…as her father passed away suddenly at the young age of just 49… his last rites were performed only a day ago… the tears in her eyes had not yet dried. Yet, driven by the resolve to fulfil her capable father’s dream, his determined daughter appeared for her Class 12 examination on Tuesday. This heart-touching story is of Pragati Suhas Yadav.

Prof. Dr Suhas Yadav (Lonikar), sports director of Sant Tukaram College, Kannad, passed away suddenly due to a heart attack on Monday ,February 9. His untimely demise left the family shattered. His funeral was held at his native village Loni (Paratūr, Jalna district).

Fate dealt a cruel blow when, the very next day on Tuesday, Pragati had her first Class 12 examination. Coping with the loss of a father is never easy for any daughter; however, Pragati did not give up. With the determination that her father’s dream was now her own goal, she set aside her grief and moved forward.

I will fulfil my father’s dream

At the Bhaskaracharya Junior College examination centre in the Satara area of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Pragati entered the exam hall with a heavy heart but unwavering determination.She said, “Fulfilling my father’s dream is now my ultimate goal. I will appear for the examinations and pass with good marks.”

Her father had dreamt of making her an engineer, and therefore Pragati is also preparing for the JEE.

Allegation of death due to election-related stress

Colleagues and friends have alleged that prof. Suhas Yadav’s death was not merely an unfortunate incident but a failure of the system. They claim that excessive stress related to election duties led to his death. Fellow professors stated that employees involved in the election process are increasingly falling victim to physical and mental health issues due to excessive workload and stress.
