Champashti, Khandoba festival starts today
Aurangabad, Dec 19:
The Champashti and Khandoba Yatra festival will start from Sunday. On this occasion, Maha Aarti will be held at Khandoba temple in Satara at 7:15 am in the presence of 15 citizens. After that, the palanquin of Lord Khandoba will be taken out and the idol will be placed in Dandekar house.
Temple trust president Sahebrao Palaskar said, "Martandbhairavotthapan is taking place on Champashti. That will also be the beginning of the Khandoba Yatra festival. However, the fair has been cancelled due to Covid-19. Laghurudra abhishek will be performed by priests on Sunday at 12.30 am. Maha Aarti will be performed in the presence of 15 people at 7.15 am and an offering 101 items as prasad will be offered. The palanquin procession will be taken out at 8 am in the presence of five people and the palanquin will go to Dandekar''s house. There will be religious activities throughout the day. The procession will be brought back to the temple at 8 pm. Trust secretary Gangadhar Parkhe, Dilip Dandekar, trustee, Vitthal Deokar, Govind Chopde, Ramesh Chopde and others were present.
Devotees will be admitted for darshan
Devotees coming for darshan will have to follow the rules. Mask, social distancing, sanitizer is compulsory. But devotees will not be allowed to stay in the temple for long.
