Aurangabad, April 5:

The office of the joint director of Higher Education (Aurangabad division) started giving extension to Clock Hour Basis (CHB) teachers for the academic year 2020-21 on a temporary basis.

It may be noted that the colleges were closed in March 2020 because of COVID.

A total of 1634 CHB teachers were jobless within Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University's jurisdiction and were selling vegetables, groceries, and other items for survival.

The colleges restarted few months, but the CHB teachers have not given a job as Higher Education has not given approval to the appointment proposal for the AY 2020-21.

The services of CHB teachers because of 817 vacant posts in the aided 115 colleges since 2017.

The joint director of Higher Education (HE) of Aurangabad division Dr Digamber Gaikwad said that those appointed during the last academic year are being given an extension on a temporary basis.

“No objection Certificate (NOC) is being to the proposal sent by the colleges. There are no guidelines for a new appointment yet,” he added.
