City seeing rise in employment opportunities: guardian minister Sanjay Shirsat

Investors have consistently given the city top preference, leading to significant industrial growth and the creation of employment opportunities, guardian minister Sanjay Shirsat said on Friday.

The Maharashtra Day was celebrated with enthusiasm, with the main government ceremony held at Deogiri Ground. The chief flag hoisting was performed by Shirsat. Present on the occasion were Zilla Parishad president Avinash Galande, divisional commissioner G Sreekanth, district collector Vinay Gowda G C, municipal commissioner Amol Yedge, Zilla Parishad CEO Minnu P M, inspector general of police (Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar range) Virendra Mishra, commissioner of police Pravin Pawar, superintendent of police Dr Vinaykumar Rathod, deputy mayor Rajendra Janjal, corporators Harshada Shirsat and Kishor Nagare, former MP Chandrakant Khaire, along with freedom fighters, social workers, students and citizens.

Shirsat said the working class has played a major role in the district’s industrial development. He also highlighted ongoing efforts to improve healthcare, roads, water supply and civic amenities. He urged citizens to fill in their details online as the national census begins.

Felicitations for outstanding work

Individuals from various fields were honoured by the guardian minister. The Zilla Parishad secured first rank in the Sevakarmi Plus programme under the 150-day action plan, for which deputy CEO of the general administration department Raghvendra Ghorpade was felicitated. Ashwini Lakhamle was honoured for work in women and child welfare, while Kavita Wagh received recognition as a recipient of the Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar award.

For exemplary service, police sub-inspector Pravina Yadav, assistant police commissioner Anand Gaikwad, assistant police inspector Anand Avinash Bagul, ATS constable Omprakash Bankar, and anti-corruption bureau constables Deepak Ingle and Devisingh Thakur were also felicitated.
