Aurangabad, Oct 23:

The administrator of Aurangabad Municipal corporation (AMC) A K Pandey today instructed the civic officers to cut the old electricity poles and use them as bollards to affix near the cycle tracks in the city.

Pandey today inspected the old electricity poles lying at Garware Stadium. They are lying unused for street lights. As a result, he told them to cut a piece of 1.5 metres each and use it as bollards to mark the cycle track. It may be noted that the AMC and the Aurangabad Smart City Development Corporation Limited (ASCDCL) have geared up to prepare cycle tracks in the city.

Under the Smart City project, the union government under its programme, Cycles4Change, will be developing cycle tracks on important roads including Kranti Chowk to Railway Station road. At first, the length of the track is 6 km, and then bollards will be fixed on both sides.

Acting assistant director Town Planning Jayant Kharwadkar, executive engineer (electricity) A B Deshmukh, ASCDCL''s deputy chief executive officer Pushkal Shivam were present on occasion.
