Chief minister Uddhav Thackeray inaugurated various development works virtually in a function organized at the Garware Stadium on Saturday.

These development-works included the inauguration of the much-awaited water supply scheme amounting Rs 1680 crores, road works Rs 152 crores, Late Balasaheb Thackeray Smruti Van amounting Rs 25 crores and Safari Park Rs 174 crores. The foundation stones of all these projects were laid and inaugurated virtually by clicking the remote.

Guardian minister and industry minister, Subhash Desai, urban development minister Eknath Shinde, water supply minister Gulabrao Patil, Employment Guarantee minister Sandipan Bhumre, minister of state for rural development Abdul Sattar, MLA Haribhau Bagade, MLA, Sanjay Shirsath, MLA Pradeep Jaiswal, MLA Atul Save, MLC Satish Chavan, MLC Ambadas Danve, Vinod Ghosalkar, Milind Narvekar, divisional commissioner Sunil Kendrekar, district collector Sunil Chavan, AMC commissioner Astik Kumar Pande and others were present.

Thackeray said, past one year has gone fighting with Corona. These development works were pending. Now, the time has come to begin the development works one by one. Many more such inaugurations of development works will be done in the coming days and will be completed in the stipulated time frame, he said.

Criticizing his opponents, he said, he was alleged of sitting at home during the Corona crisis. However, I was doing work sitting at home as a result so many works are getting underway and today development works are being inaugurated. The Corona crisis has not been over yet and hence I will advise the residents to take precautionary measures and follow guidelines, he advised to the people.

The residents of Aurangabad have loved Late Balasaheb Thackeray and even he had special affection for the people of this city. He was known as ‘Remote Control’ and is a coincidence that these development works are being inaugurated by clicking the remote, he said.

The new water supply scheme has been drafted considering the 33 lakh population of the city to be increased by 2052. The people will get adequate and cheaper water. Similarly, a proposal has been sent to the union government to rename the city Airport as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Airport. The air connectivity of the city will increase in the coming days. A few days back, he inspected the work of the Balasaheb Thackeray Highway. The issues related to the farmers were resolved by communicating with them and the work of the highway will be completed by May 1, he said.

The Gunthewari, lease hold, cidco ownership issues will be resolved soon, informed CM Thackeray, he has issued directives to the officers in this regard.

Industry minister, Subhash Desai said, discussions are being done with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and efforts are being taken to bring big IT industry at the Auric City. The officials of an Indonesian Company recently visited here and a medicine equipment plant is being planned here. Russian based NLMK Company is planning to invest Rs 200 crores in the Beed and Jalna district, he said.
