To help industry, MSMEs and trade bodies understand the policy thrust of the Union Budget 2026–27, the Chamber of Marathwada Industries and Agriculture (CMIA) organised a guidance session titled ‘Decoding Union Budget 2026–27’ on Tuesday at Bajaj Bhavan, Railway Station MIDC.

The session was addressed by chartered accountant Umesh Sharma, central council member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). He explained the Budget’s economic outlook, key fiscal indicators, tax reforms and opportunities for MSMEs and startups.

Highlighting the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’, Sharma said increased capital expenditure would create new opportunities for MSMEs, while fiscal discipline would help maintain interest rate stability. He also outlined initiatives such as the MSME Growth Fund, expansion of the TReDS platform and tax provisions under the New Income Tax Act 2025.

CMIA honorary secretary Mihir Soundalgekar introduced the speaker. Former CMIA president Gautam Nandavat, treasurer Saurabh Challani and industry representatives were present.
