Aurangabad, Nov 3:

District collector Sunil Chavan issued show-cause notices to 19 officers and employees absent for the meeting called for the implementation of the model code of conduct for the Marathwada Graduate Constituency elections at collector office on Tuesday. Chavan warned to take action as per the Representation of the People Act 1951 if the concerned persons do not respond to notices.

The notices were issued to state excise officer, district superintendent of agriculture, superintendent engineer public works, superintendent engineer irrigation, assistant commissioner of state excise, assistant commissioner of social welfare and other employees. Collector Chavan said, "All the nodal officers and concerned must carry out the responsibilities entrusted to them for the successful conduct of the elections. The officers and employees who do not work will have to face action as per the rules. He further said, since the code of conduct has been introduced, no new development work should be sanctioned and inaugurated. Candidates and parties are required to obtain permission for campaigning. The administration will implement preventive measures for all at all polling stations, including thermal guns, sanitizers and compliance with physical distances. Chavan said additional vehicle arrangements and manpower were also being prepared. Municipal commissioner Astik Kumar Pandey, ZP chief executive officer Mangesh Gondawale, Superintendent of police Mokshada Patil, Deputy commissioner of police Meena Makwana, Additional collector Anant Gavhane and others were present for the meet.
