Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:
Centre heads must ensure that not a single case of copying takes place at any examination centre during the Class 10 and Class 12 final examinations in the district. If copying is detected at any centre, the centre head concerned will be held responsible. In case of any malpractice, the recognition of the examination centre will be cancelled for the following year. District Collector Dilip Swami informed that the recognition of six centres where malpractices were detected last year has already been withdrawn.
The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) will commence the Class 12 and Class 10 examinations in the coming days. A meeting of the vigilance committee was held on Monday at the district collector’s office to review the preparedness for the examinations. The meeting was attended by zilla parishad chief executive officer Ankit, resident deputy collector Janardan Vidhate, district supply officer Pravin Phulari, deputy collectors Dr Suchita Shinde, Neelam Bafna, Eknath Bangale and Santosh Gorad, education officer (secondary) and vigilance committee secretary Ashwini Lathkar, education officer (primary) Jayshree Chavan, Arun Shinde, along with other officials.
CEO Ankit stated that security arrangements at examination centres should be reviewed at the level of the commissioner of police (CP) and superintendent of police, and strict action should be taken to ensure that photostat centres in the vicinity of examination centres remain closed. District Collector Swami said that as the examinations are being held during the summer season, separate seating arrangements should be made for parents accompanying students, and these should be located away from the examination centres. Students coming from outside towns should be provided with the correct address of their examination centres and instructed to reach at least half an hour in advance. He appealed to all stakeholders, including the police, revenue department, education department, electricity company, school managements, parents and teachers, to contribute towards making the examinations completely free from copying.
65,000 students for Class 12 and 69,000 for Class 10
There are 159 examination centres for Class 12 in the district, with 65,516 candidates appearing for the examination. For Class 10, there are 240 centres with 69,530 candidates. CCTV cameras have been installed at the required centres, and their monitoring will be carried out at the district level. It was also informed during the meeting that CCTV cameras have been installed in 2,528 schools across the district.
