Compensation for disputed Gut No. 154 deposited in court: MP Bhumare

After Ambadas Danve, district chief of Uddhav Sena, alleged a ₹1,150 crore scam against MP Sandeepan Bhumare and his driver Javed in connection with a land compensation case related to the Samruddhi Expressway, Bhumare cancelled his scheduled visit to Delhi on Wednesday and immediately sought to clarify his position.

Bhumare said that the Gut referred to by Danve does not exist at all, and that the compensation for the disputed land has been deposited in court. He hit back, saying that Danve’s “mental balance has been disturbed”, which is why he is making baseless allegations.

Bhumare also said he would file a defamation suit against Danve. The dispute between Danve and Bhumare has been escalating day by day. After the Kalda Corner land issue, Danve has now levelled allegations of financial irregularities against Bhumare in connection with land at Jatwada, sparking discussion in political circles.

Bhumare said that on Tuesday, Danve accused both him and his driver. “Javed executed a ₹1,150 crore ‘hibanama’ (gift deed). I do not deny that he is my driver. However, Danve should have verified the facts before making such allegations. I do not know the woman connected to the land, nor does my driver. My driver was born in 1984, whereas the hibanama was executed in 1971. At that time, Javed was not even born. The woman concerned is Hindu. Since the land belongs to a Muslim individual, a hibanama (gift deed) cannot be executed. If there has been any misuse of government machinery, then the matter should be investigated.”

The gut itself does not exist…

Bhumare said,” There is no Gut No. 174. There are disputes regarding Gut No. 154, and its compensation has been deposited in court. Gut numbers exist only up to 171. So how could such a ‘hibanama’ take place? And the parties involved in the court dispute over Gut 154 are entirely different people. Danve is lying. He has lost control of the district and is no longer an MLC. He was accustomed to the entourage of the leader of the opposition. Now no one pays attention to him, so he is making allegations out of frustration.”

Will file a defamation suit against Danve…

Challenging Danve to substantiate his allegations with evidence, Bhumare warned that he would file a defamation suit against him. “Danve must clarify how he arrived at the figure of ₹1,150 crore. Earlier, he had falsely accused MLA Vilas Bhumre of assaulting. A defamation case in that matter is already pending, with the next hearing on February 27. I will now file another defamation suit in this matter as well. If my driver has committed any wrongdoing, action should be taken against him. I also demand a thorough investigation into the case,” Bhumare said.
