The contractual employees at the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) have started a chain hunger strike since last Diwali to press their various demands. The hunger strike has continued until now while two to five employees initiate hunger strike daily. Their demands included to pay the outstanding salaries and enrolment in the regular services. The employees grieved that the GMCH administration and the government is not taking the note despite the prolonged hunger strike.
