Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

The Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation (CSMC) water supply officials have claimed that the city water supply, which was disrupted for the past two days, normalised on Monday.

The pipeline got burst near Chitegaon on Saturday evening, as a result, the city water supply was affected on Saturday and Sunday. The lifting of water from the Jayakwadi Dam started on Sunday night. Hence the CSMC started supplying water to some areas late in the night on Sunday, while the remaining areas that were deprived of water in taps on Sunday (as per rotation), were supplied water on Monday, said the executive engineer K M Phalak.

The water demand grows with the advent of the summer season. However, the CSMC supplies water to the citizens in a gap of 8-10 days.

Earlier, the bursting of the pipeline affected the supply on Saturday and the next day (Sunday). The supply of water is restored in phases (on Sunday night; Monday and partially on Tuesday).
