Aurangabad, April 25:

District Collector Sunil Chavan directed the doctors through a webinar to administer Remdesivir injections to the patients only if necessary. The relatives of the patients are coming to the district collectorate every day with the prescription of Remdesivir, don’t let the people wander for injections, he directed.

The Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) dean, Dr Kanan Yelikar, head of medicine department Dr Meenakshi Bhattacharya, Food and Drug Administration joint commissioner Sanjay Kale and doctors of 50 out of 76 hospitals in the city were present for the webinar.

Dr Yelikar and Dr Bhattacharya guided about the prescription of medicines to the mild, moderate and severe patients.

The relatives of the patients are approaching the district collectorate for getting the Remdesivir injections. On Sunday around 7 to 8 persons came here. The officers have to face them. The FDA officers told that they are planning to get injections from other districts of Marathwada, Nashik, Dhule and other places. The demand of injections increased on Sunday due to which there was shortage.
