Aurangabad, April 15:

The divisional commissioner Sunil Kendrekar today has held a meeting with key authorities to discuss the shortage of oxygen as the Coronavirus is spreading rapidly.

When contacted the district collector Sunil Chavan said," The administration is taking strenuous efforts to ensure that there is no shortage of oxygen. We are dependent upon the oxygen plant in Chakan. We had deployed some of our representatives. There is a huge rush, therefore, the supply of oxygen is made as per the serial order. We will be getting 50 metric tones of oxygen from Chakan plant and 35 MT from R L Steel and others in the district."

Kendrekar's meeting discussed the management of oxygen supply, save leakages, available stock of oxygen etc. He also gave necessary instructions to the officers concerned. It is learnt that 2-3 oxygen plants in the Parli area could be reserved during an emergency.
