Dr Vaishali appointed as Principal of GCAS

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Dr Vaishali Santosh Deshmukh has been appointed the Principal of Government College of Arts and Science (GCAS)

She took charge of the post from her outgoing counterpart and Divisional Joint Director of Higher Education, Dr Pankaja Waghmare, last week.

Dr Vaishali has been serving as the Head of the Music Department at the college. She was first appointed in 2006 through the Maharashtra State Public Service Commission and has teaching experience of 24 years.

Dr Deshmukh is also a research guide for the Music subject and six students have completed Ph D, under her guidance.

She has made a significant contribution to the field of music and is a disciple of Gaansaraswati Kishoritai Amonkar and Dr Veena Sahasrabuddhe.
