Draft of Kopargaon – Ahmednagar Road repairing submitted

The state government submitted the planning draft of the Kopargaon – Ahmednagar Road in the Aurangabad Division Bench of the Bombay High Court on September 30 through an affidavit.

Kopargaon – Kolhar Road was declared a National Highway. However, the National Highway Authority has not taken the concerned road into its custody. The government has assured that the road will be prepared by January 30, 2021, in an affidavit.

The High Court on January 10, 2020, in an interim order directed the government that the contractor Supreme Infrastructure India Ltd’s Kopargaon Ahmedanagar Tolves Company is not doing the maintenance of the major state highways in Ahmednagar. Hence, the government should not extend the toll collection and should repair the concerned highway.

On September 16, chief justice Dipankar Datta and Justice S V Gangapurwala ordered the government to submit the draft of the planning of the concerned highway''s repairing. Accordingly, the government submitted an affidavit. Adv Satish Talekar, Adv Pradnya Talekar and Adv Ajinkya Kale appeared for petitioner, Sachin Kote.
