Aurangabad, May 22:

The EPS-95 pension-holders to attract the attention of the union Government towards their long-pending demands will be observing one day fast, by staying in their homes, on June 1. Meanwhile, the ailing and elderly pension-holders will offer just prayers.

There are 67 lakh EPS pensioners from various corporations, private industries, and cooperative sectors. They are demanding a hike in their minimum pension to Rs 7,500 for the last many years. The chain agitation in Buldhana has completed its 881 days. Presently, the pensioners are getting a pension between Rs 300 and Rs 3,000. They also deprive of dearness allowances and medical facilities. On behalf of the EPS-95 Rashtriya Sangharsh Samiti, the Marathwada president Kamlakar Pangarkar, Nirmala Badwe, Madhuri Joshi, and others appealed to the EPS-95 pensioners to participate in the agitation.
