Excessive use of smartphones & social media causing stress & disorders
Chhatrapait Sambhajinagar: Yogacharya Gangaprasad Kharat stated that due to excessive use of smartphones and social media, problems like irritability and loneliness, sleep disorders, reduced family communication, lack of mental concentration and academic stress are rapidly increasing among students.
He was speaking at the valedictory ceremony of the ten-day Digital Detoxification Camp organised for college students jointly by College of Biosciences and Technology and the Department of Yoga Science at MGM University.
He outlined a five-point formula for detox-- ‘avoid picking up the mobile phone for at least one hour before sleep and after waking up in the morning, keeping the mobile away during meals, observing a few hours of digital fasting every day, spending quality time with family and turning off social media notifications.’ Director Dr Archana Panche, Head of Department Dr Sanjay Harke and others were present
