Aurangabad, July 23:

Shahu Maharaj National Research Fellowship is given to MPhil and PhD students. MLC Satish Chavan of Marathwada graduate constituency, has demanded the managing director of Sarthi institute Ashok Kakde to extend the date of registration process from July 15 to September 30 so that online applications can be submitted by the students who have registered for both the courses.

In a statement issued Chavan, it is said that Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Research Training and Human Development Institute (SARTHI) fellowship is given to needy MPhil and PhD students from the Maratha, Kunbi, Kunbi-Maratha, Maratha-Kunbi categories who want to pursue higher education. For this scholarship, applications have been invited from candidates registered for MPhil and PhD entrance from January 1 to July 15. The deadline for online application is August 31. The Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University has conducted the PhD pre-entrance test (PET) and the admission registration process for students with PET holders and those exempted from PET has not been completed yet. MLC Chavan pointed out to Kakade and director Madhukar Kokate that the students of this university will be deprived of the scholarship. In order to get the benefit of this scholarship to the meritorious students of Marathwada, the registration deadline for scholarship should be changed from July 15 to September 30.
