A young man was assaulted for a trivial reason by a group of four while he was walking home on Friday night. The youth escaped from the attackers and took shelter at his sister''s house in Mahunagar.

However, the four men then went there and beat the men and women of the house and on their way pulled out a gold leaf and a bead weighing four grams from a woman''s neck.

A case has been registered against Avinash Dabhade, Sunil Gadwe and two others at Jawaharnagar police station.

According to information, Ajay Vijay Kharat (22, resident of Saujanya Nagar, Mahunagar) is working in a private hospital. After finishing work, he was heading home. Meanwhile, Dabhade, Gadve and two others approached him and asked where Gopal lives. When Ajay said that he did not know him, Dabhade and his group beat Ajay and injured him.

He escaped and reached the house of his sister Ashwini Naresh Pakhre. There, the mob also beat up Ajay''s mother Alka Vijay Kharat, Ranjana Rahul Pakhre, Seema Ranjit Salve, Lata Arvind Kale and Anil Ashok Kamble. Dabhade also snatched a gold leaf and a bead worth Rs 24,000 from Lata Kale.
