Fierce polling for ZP in Phulambri; candidates scramble to woo voters
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:
Polling for four zilla parishad constituencies and eight panchayat samiti segments in Phulambri tehsil held amid keen competition on Saturday. With all candidates considered strong contenders, the contest turned intense. As a result, candidates and their workers were seen making relentless efforts throughout the day to bring every single voter, from farms and remote hamlets, to the polling stations.
Polling began at 8 am in the four constituencies of Babra, Wadod Bazaar, Pal and Ganori. Long queues of voters were seen at polling centres during the morning hours. Although the rush subsided somewhat between 10 am and noon, voter turnout picked up again after midday.
Voting disrupted briefly in Waregaon due to technical snag
At polling station number 93 in Waregaon, voting was temporarily halted between 12.37 pm and 1.07 pm due to a minor technical malfunction in the voting machine. Voters had to wait for nearly half an hour. Zilla Parishad candidate Sandeep Borse also confirmed that voting had stopped for some time. However, election officials denied any disruption, stating that there was no complete halt in the polling process.
Polling across all 155 centres in the tehsil was conducted peacefully. The administration confirmed that no untoward incidents were reported. Given the close contest in all four constituencies, workers of various candidates remained focused on mobilising voters right up to the final moments of polling.
