Flight service to operate from Navi Mumbai airport from March 29

The evening IndiGo flight service on the Mumbai–Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar–Mumbai route will operate from Navi Mumbai International Airport from March 29. The change has already been updated in the online booking system. Minor revisions have also been made to the Mumbai flight schedule.

At present, IndiGo operates both morning and evening flights to Mumbai from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. However, with the implementation of the summer schedule, the evening flight will be shifted to Navi Mumbai airport.

Demand for reconsideration

Travelling from Mumbai city and its suburbs to Navi Mumbai airport is currently time-consuming and complicated. Shifting the evening flight before the completion of essential roads, flyovers and metro connectivity would place an additional burden on regular passengers. The service on this route has been convenient for years for business travellers, students and tourists. A request has been made to IndiGo to reconsider the decision, keeping passengers’ convenience in mind. There is hope that a positive decision will be taken before the summer schedule comes into effect, said president of the civil aviation committee of ATDF, Sunit Kothari.

Revised schedule of the morning Mumbai flight

Currently, the morning flight departs Mumbai at 6:10 am and arrives in the city at 7:20 am. From March 29, it will depart Mumbai at 5:35 am and arrive at 6:45 am. On the return journey, it presently departs the city at 7:50 am and reaches Mumbai at 8:45 am. Under the new schedule, it will depart at 7:15 am and arrive in Mumbai at 8:15 am.

Revised schedule of the evening Mumbai flight

At present, the evening flight leaves Mumbai at 7:35 pm and reaches the city at 8:45 pm. From March 29, it will depart at 7:30 pm and arrive at 8:25 pm. On the return journey, it currently departs the city at 9:15 pm and reaches Mumbai at 10:10 pm. As per the revised schedule, it will depart at 8:55 pm and arrive in Mumbai at 9:50 pm.
