Aurangabad, May 12:

Several people have lost their earning sources due to the imposition of lockdown and curfew to restrict the spread of Corona pandemic. It has become very challenging for the poor people living in slums to sustain the food needs of their families now. In the first lockdown imposed last year, several generous donors had come forwards to distribute foodgrains and cooked food to the people. However, the situation is different now.

Considering the challenges faced by the poor people in the slum areas, Welcome Educational Institute has come forward to help these people. They are distributing the grocery kits to the needy people. The kits include wheat flour, edible oil, rice, spices, tea and sugar which can last for at least a month. The Institute has distributed around 101 such kits in the Misarwadi, Beribag, Harsul, Naregaon and other slum areas.

The director of the institute Azar Pathan, social activist Shaikh Mateen, Ejaj Khan and others are implementing this project. Around 100 kits have been distributed to the needy people until now and we are planning for giving more such kits, said Pathan.

Shaikh Mateen said, we are taking efforts to locate the needy people so that the real beneficiaries should get the kits and hence all the information is being taken, he said.
