Guardian Minister accuses former MP of providing shelter to Nida Khan
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: AIMIM state president and former MP Imtiaz Jaleel is an ‘urban terrorist’, alleged guardian minister Sanjay Shirsat on Wednesday during a press conference. He also demanded that a case be registered against Jaleel, claiming he was involved in providing shelter to Nida Khan in the city.
Shirsat said that Jaleel staged a show of strength in Naregaon on Tuesday night along with AIMIM corporators and a large gathering, and argued that he should also face legal action for it.
“I openly challenge Jaleel. If you believe in your holy book, place your hand on it and say whether or not you brought Nida Khan to the city,” Shirsat said. He further alleged that corporator Matin Patel had no role in the matter and that Jaleel was responsible for bringing Nida Khan to Naregaon and hiding her there.
He also claimed that Matin Patel’s family had been ‘ruined’ politically due to Jaleel’s actions.
Shirsat added that Jaleel’s own house was also unauthorised and not constructed as per approved permissions, and said he would direct the municipal administration to investigate it. “All corporators’ properties will be inspected. If any illegal constructions are found, they will be demolished, even if they belong to our own party members,” he said.
He further alleged that Jaleel would emerge as the ‘main accused’ in the investigation, claiming that he had brought Nida Khan to the city and provided her shelter at Matin Patel’s residence while she was being searched by police across the state. According to Shirsat, the police investigation would eventually reveal all facts.
