Health administration to remain on toes till Mission Covid-19 does not come under control: Tope
Aurangabad, Dec 29:
The state health minister Rajesh Tope clarified that his administration would be on Mission Covid-19 mode until the virus does not come 100 per cent under control. " The new COVID strain has not been traced in the state, so far. Many countries in Europe had resorted to lockdown for the third time and are implementing it strictly. If the Maharashtrians wish that the situation do not reach till that stage, then they should maintain self-discipline religiously," stressed the minister.
Tope was speaking to media persons at a programme organised at a private hospital in the city on Tuesday. He said, " The NIV-Pune had tested 43 swab samples, and not a single person is found to be suffering from the UK''s strain in the state. There is no need to get panicked, but prevention and precaution are need of the hour as the new variant spreads speedily. The health machinery is no doubt working for the past many months. However, one can reduce the burden upon them by following prescribed guidelines and maintaining discipline."
The minister also underlined that Maharashtra was the first state to stop the UK''s flight services in the country. The union Government took the decision later on. The state administration is alert about the new Covid-19 strain and is taking all appropriate measures. Tope hinted at initiating action against health official or personnel if found careless in collecting swab sample or checking the patient.
