Aurangabad, Nov 10:

Hearing on the petition challenging the norms of passing SSC compulsorily from the State to apply for the medical admissions will be held on high-on -board in Aurangabad bench of Bombay High Court on November 11.

According to details, the petitioner Meghavi Biyani who was born in Bhusawal and had domicile and Aadhar Card from the same place was facing problem in admission because of the condition of passing SSC from the State.

As per point 4.5 in the admission process, a student should pass 10th from the State to be eligible to apply for medical admissions.

Since her father is a Government contractor, he get works in two more states besides Maharashtra, she passed SSC from Madhya Pradesh.

Meghavi passed National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) in September 2020 and obtained 28,557 All India Rank in it. Since she passed SSC from other states she was facing difficulties in applying for the medical admissions.

When the petition came up for hearing on Tuesday, lawyer of CET Cell Mrugesh Narwadakar requested the court to give time to seeking information.

The last date to apply for medical admissions is November 12, so, HC bench comprising Justice P Deshmukh and Justice S D Kulkarni placed hearing on November 11.

Senior lawyer Rajendra Deshmukh is appearing for the petitioner while adv Devang Deshmukh, Govind Kulkarni and N R Daima are assisting him. Chief Government pleader D R Kale is representing the Government.
