A hotel owner allegedly abused and threatened a trainee police sub-inspector, snatched his bike key, and forced him to walk away following a parking dispute in Naralibag on March 22. The accused, Pritesh alias Bunty Prakash Jaiswal, fled after City Chowk police registered a case. This marks the sixth such incident in the city involving misconduct with police personnel.
Rahul Shinde (31), a trainee PSI at City Chowk police station, had parked his two-wheeler near JP International Hotel while on investigation duty when Jaiswal confronted him, objected to police presence, and used abusive language. Despite attempts to pacify him, the accused claimed police could not harm him, snatched the key, and forced Shinde to leave on foot.
A case was registered later that night on orders from senior officers after Shinde reported the incident. Police launched a search, but the accused had already absconded from his residence and hotel.
Jaiswal has six prior cases registered at Begumpura, City Chowk, and Cidco police stations. Police are also examining the legality of a hostel and study centre allegedly operating within his hotel, said investigating officer assistant inspector Manoj Shinde.
