City Chowk Police unearthed call centre running online betting on India Premie League (IPL) four days ago.

However, the identity of the mastermind of the case is still unrevealed. As reported earlier, online betting on IPL is started in the city like every year.

Many people are betting to become rich in a short time. In the preliminary probe,

it was found that there are crores of rupees turnover daily in the online betting being done secretly.

City Chowk Police raided a betting den at Kachiwada and arrested father-son Nemichand Shantilal Kasliwal and Akash Nemichand Kasliwal. Nearly Rs 80 lakh amount, betted in just two days at the den.

As the betting case was fresh, police raided a call centre for online betting was being run at an apartment in Rauza Baugh. A total of 17 persons, including seven women, were booked. The centre owner had taken the utmost care to hide it from police.

City Chowk Police unearthed the call centre and seized 52 mobile phones, laptop, cash and other items. With the help of cyber police, local IPL betting agent was arrested. The accused was collecting money from online payment mode. Police officers said that the prime accused is in Buldhana district and they are collecting evidence against him.

Meanwhile, in another case, prime accused Manoj Dagade obtained anticipatory bail and remained present in the Crime Branch (CB) office on Tuesday. This betting case was handed over to the CB.
