Independent candidate raises suspicion on counting process

Independent candidate Siddheshwar Munde, who lost the Marathwada graduate constituency election, has lodged a complaint with the Election Commission objecting to the ballot papers and counting process and also warned to approach the court at a press conference on Friday.

Munde claimed that more than 5,000 ballot papers were left blank during the counting process and that there were constant changes, including with the signs of the polling station in-charge. He had also lodged a complaint with the returning officer Sunil Kendrekar after realizing that all this was suspicious. Kendrekar immediately replied but was not satisfied. He clarified that he would go to court against this. Along with Munde, Kunal Kharat, Sachin Dhawale, Rohit Borkar and Vishal Nandarkar had raised suspicious on the day of counting. However, at the time, Kendrekar had told the candidates that the second round of counting was underway and it was not possible to stop the counting, Munde said.

Preparing to file a petition in court

Munde said, there is a discrepancy between the actual polling and the counting of votes. Therefore, preparations are underway to file a petition in the court with proper evidence.
