International tourism stakeholders to visit city heritage sites under FAM tour
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:
With a view to promote world heritage sites of Maharashtra across the globe, the directorate of tourism, has organised a familiarisation tour (FAM Tour) for tourism influencers, tour operators and journalists from abroad.
A total of 65 representatives from 13 countries, namely Brazil, China, Germany, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Russia, South Korea, Sri Lanka, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, the United States and Vietnam, have arrived in the city.
The objective of this international tourism exchange initiative is to showcase Maharashtra’s world-class heritage attractions globally and to strengthen cultural and tourism cooperation. Discussions will also be held with local tourism stakeholders in the city. During their stay, the foreign delegates will visit historic and spiritual destinations such as Grishneshwar Temple, Daulatabad Fort, Bibi Ka Maqbara, Panchakki and world heritage sites –Ellora Caves and Ajanta Caves.
The programme is being conducted under the guidance of principal secretary Sanjay Khandare and director Dr V N Patil. The deputy director (tourism) Vijay Jadhav and his team accorded a traditional welcome to the guests upon their arrival.
