Irrespective of elections, COVID vaccine be given free to all: Nawab Malik

Aurangabad, Oct 24:

The state wakf minister Nawab Malik to expressed his concern over-obsessed attempt of BJP to gain political mileage in Bihar elections through the announcement of COVID vaccine.

" The announcement of distributing COVID vaccine after results indicates that the party want to encash the situation and gain political mileage. Irrespective of elections, the union government should have declared that it would be giving the vaccine free of cost to all. I wish to mention that whatever may be the results in Bihar, all of them would be getting the vaccine freely. We would also distribute the vaccine free in our state," said the minister.

Malik was addressing a press conference organised by the office of Maharashtra State Board of Wakfs (MSBW) at Panchakki today morning.

In reply to a question, Malik pointed out, " If our Prime Minister would have followed the alert circulated by World Health Organisation (WHO) and ordered to seal the borders (international and national) declaring health emergency from January 1, 2020. Then the whole nation would not have been pushed to face lockdown for months at a stretch. However, in the love of Donald Trump, he ignored all the serious matters."

Speaking on the constitution of a new body of Wakf Board, Malik claimed that the appointment of former MLC M M Shaikh as a member on the body was illegal. He represented the social worker''s category. The wakf ministry is also taking stern action against its member Kaleem Babu Qureshi for taking six original files of Wakf Board at his home, and despite serving reminders, he is not returning them for past two years.

The Wakf chief executive officer (CEO) Shaikh Anees and deputy CEO Farooq Pathan flanked the minister on the dais.
