Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

Goods worth nearly Rs 8 lakh were stolen from Kohler Company situated in Shendra MIDC on February 22. In this case, the Karmad police launched an investigation and arrested four suspects and recovered stolen goods worth Rs 3.5 lakh from them. The accused were remanded to three days of police custody on Wednesday.

A complaint was filed by Sushant Ashok Kuchekar (Devgiri Society, Shendra MIDC), leading to the registration of a case at the Karmad police station. Considering the seriousness of the theft, assistant police inspector (API) Pratap Navghare directed his team of police personnel to investigate the case.

According to confidential information, the police identified the suspects as Avinash Kalyan Nikalje, Suraj Chandrakant Salve (both residents of Shevga in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar tehsil), Karan Pundlik Kamble (native of Nillod (in Sillod) and temporary residing in Aloknagar, Satara area), and Mangesh Raju Pagare (resident of Marsawali in Phulambri tehsil). The suspects were arrested and, during questioning, confessed to committing the theft.

This success was achieved under the guidance of Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr Vinay Kumar Rathod, Additional SP Annapurna Singh, and Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Pooja Nangare, with the efforts of API Pratap Navghare, Shivaji Madewad, Vijay Singh Jarwal, Vinod Khillare, and Santosh Timkikar.

The police recovered four motorcycles, three mobile phones, and Rs 60,000 in cash from the proceeds of the stolen goods, totalling Rs 2.40 lakh. During the investigation, the police produced the four arrested criminals before the District Sessions Court, which granted them three days of police custody.

Meanwhile, the police have identified a shopkeeper who purchased stolen goods from the thieves. He is currently absconding, and the police are searching for him. There is suspicion that these thieves may have committed thefts at other companies in Shendra MIDC, and the police are continuing their investigation in that direction.
